Email this page / Print this page / Text size adjust: A A A

Processing Reservations

Submit camp reservations no later than 30 days before the camp date requested. Troop/group reservations may be submitted and processed three months in advance, but no sooner. Service Unit reservations must be submitted by June 15; processing begins July 1. Confirmation will follow within two to three weeks.

Camp reservations are not taken by phone. Sites are reserved through the written guidelines below.

The complete reservation process includes:

  1. The Application for Reservation
  2. Camp Fee (see back side of Camp Application Form)
  3. Approval/signature of Troop Consultant, Service Unit Manager or Community Development Manager

TWO OR MORE TROOPS/GROUPS CAMPING TOGETHER

Include each troop/group number on the application. Have it signed by each group’s Consultant.

TO VISIT A CAMP BEFORE CAMPING

Please call Gail Berghorn at ext. 1776. Visits are welcome on all weekdays except Wednesday and Friday.

MAKING SURE ADULTS ARE QUALIFIED

The adult acting as the Camp resourse person for a troop must have completed Girls Going to Camp training or have equivalent training on record.

First Aid, Lifeguard and Boating requirements:

Troops camping must have one adult with certification in First Aid and CPR. See Safety-Wise (p.153) for information about the Girl Scout Level 1 First Aider.
Guidelines for Aquatic Activities are in Safety-Wise —see Activity Checkpoints for each activity, instructor/consultant requirements, etc.

PROPANE STOVES

Propane stoves must be used away from all structures. Cooking in cabins or screened shelters is strictly prohibited by the Fire Department. Guidelines for Cooking, Food Preparation and Cleaning, and Cooking Fires are in Safety-Wise.

TAG-ALONGS AT CAMP

A tag-along (or “Tag”) is a child up to age five who participates in a Girl Scout activity. Boys over age 5 are considered too old to go to Girl Scout camp. Girls age five should be registered in order to participate. Additional insurance must be purchased for any activity with “Tags.” Contact the Administrative Assistant at ext. 1771 one month in advance.

Tag insurance is currently 11 cents per person per day with a minimum of $5 per application.

KITCHEN FACILITIES

CDT, Indian Echo, Scoutcrest Plant City Troop House and Camp Wildwood have small kitchens with a stove and refrigerator. There are no stoves or refrigerators available for troop/group use at Wai Lani.
