Homestead Program Facilitator Training

Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Camp Wildwood Homestead Unit

Cost: $10/person to cover food costs (meals will be prepared as part of the training). Bring with you a pioneer costume (or use one of ours) and a flashlight

Capacity: Minimum 5 participants/ Maximum 20 participants

Do you enjoy or are you looking to learn outdoor skills like fire building and cooking over a fire (we’ll transfer those skills to a wood-burning stove)? Want to know about pioneer toys, quilting, butter churning and other life skills from the past? If so, plan to attend the upcoming Homestead Program facilitator training!

The training is an opportunity for adults to learn about facilitating the Homestead Pioneers program at Camp Wildwood. You will experience the life of a Florida pioneer in the late 1800s as you learn the skills to lead girls in this hands-on experience. Adults who attend this training are committing to lead (or co-lead) the program at least two times per year for groups of participants.

Questions? Contact Patricia Rossie-King, Director of Human Resources prossie@gswcf.org.

If you’d like to attend the training, please fill out the form and return by Friday, Feb. 8, 2008. You will receive confirmation two weeks prior to training.
